BMW Brake Fluid Service: When It Is Due and What It Costs
BMW brake fluid is a scheduled service with a reminder in the cluster, about every two years per our repair page, and the price differences between shops come mostly from the labor rate because the work is the same.

When it is due
The page covers all modern BMWs and says the Condition Based Service brake fluid reminder comes about every 2 years. Other signs are a soft or long brake pedal and fluid that is dark or 2 or more years old. See Brake Fluid Flush / Service.
The page says price differences are mostly the dealer labor rate. A shop in the source thread bills 0.75 hours plus fluid, and with a pressure bleeder the job is 15 to 30 minutes. Dealer service specials can undercut the menu price but usually add tax and shop fees.
Newer cars and ISTA
Newer cars with an integrated brake unit may need ISTA to bleed properly, which some shops charge more for, and dealers charging for brake-by-wire cars may add ISTA time. Ask whether the quote includes it.
Saving money
Look for BMW Value Service or seasonal coupons at dealers before paying menu price, and compare an independent quote. Pads and rotors are a separate job (Brake Pads & Rotors (Front / All Four)) where a commenter puts independent labor with your own parts including a fluid flush at a per-corner rate; see that page for the number. For the full list of fluids, see BMW Service Intervals Owners' Report: Fluids by Mileage.
